Every year, our church participates in Operation Christmas Child, a project by Samaritan's Purse. Volunteers pack shoeboxes filled with gifts like hygiene items, toys and games, school supplies, and more, which are then sent to children around the world who would not otherwise have these quality essentials. Shoeboxes are presented to boys and girls, from ages 2 to 14, in the name of Jesus. According to the Samaritan's Purse website, "more than 188 million children in more than 170 countries and territories have received an Operation Christmas Child shoebox [since 1993]. The project delivers not only the joy of what, for many kids, is their first gift ever, but also gives them a tangible expression of God’s love."

During the fall of each year, we host a packing party! Items donated and purchased through church funds are categorized according to age and gender. Church volunteers then spend an evening assembling these items into boxes. At multiple stages throughout the packing process, we take care to pray over the boxes and the children who will receive them. Keep an eye on our Announcements page for updates.
