4000 weeks

As our happiness expedition continues a couple of things resonated with me this week. I read a little, I listened a little, I studied a couple of familiar Bible stories. A few notes from my thoughts:

  1. If you live the average length of time, you will have around 4000 weeks in your life (I'm a little nervous about calculating how many I might have left). Why spend them being bogged down all the time?

  2. Petting the peeves makes them hang around longer. I'll share with you my #1 pet peeve this week.

  3. It's not all about me (or you).

  4. And the best thing I learned this week was again, in a story I've seen a thousand times but all of a sudden that one verse jumped out and grabbed me when I saw it the way it was meant to be seen. It's the story of the healing of the servant in Matt CH 8. It's about what Jesus didn't say in vs 13. Don't miss Sunday because this one is gonna rock your foundation!

Friday was cold and wet. I had worked for a couple hours and finishing off my half cold cup of coffee. I went to my easy chair (Amy hates my old, ugly, makes a noise every time you move it chair). As I was reading my happiness book I ever so gently was taking a sip of my half full cup of coffee. As I reached to set it on the table that has been at the side of my chair forever, I let go of the cup. Yes .. Isaac Newton was right .. gravity pulls objects downward. The cup rolled down the arm of the chair soaking it, the floor, even getting the curtains. This didn't really make for a happy me as I was reading about being happy. Don't sweat the small stuff I guess.

What bugs you? Got any pet peeves? Got anything that "steals" your smiles? This week lets talk about what takes away from our happiness. We're all looking for how to add to, but do we ever look at what steals from? If we get far enough along, we'll hit on one of the best things we can do for us, or for anyone. And this leads to a question, has anyone in the Bible ever changed God's mind (hint ... it happened way back in Genesis)?

Leap, and grow your wings on the way down.

See ya Sunday, and don't worry, if it's cold we have heat!!
