A storm is a-brewing!

Last week, we covered a lot of ground to get to "the 12 tribes." While not technically the 12 tribes, it was at least the the siblings of Jacob (and his four wives). Guess what happens now. Well everything gets smooth, and there are no problems, no issues, and no conflicts. I mean, these are God's chosen people, right? Shouldn't it be easy? Aren't we supposed to win, never get tired, angry, feel insecure, threatened, alone? Isn't the sun supposed to always shine, no clouds, no misbehaving kids, straight A's, boss always on our side, bills always paid, no pimples or body odor?

Well I hate to shatter any smiling emojis on your screen, but it just doesn't work like that. Settle in and read from Genesis 30:25 (where we left off) through Genesis chapter 38. Studying every detail isn't necessary, but get a good feel for what is happening. It's a little longer than we normally study, and we may not get through it all in one session, but there is a lot to learn. It gets a little uncomfortable sometimes, but it is the word of God and it has a lot to teach us - mainly that we're broken, and we need help. We need grace. We need salvation.

We're building up to the events that shape Joseph's journey and why they matter. I wonder if we realize how our battles have shaped us? I know I haven't.

See you Sunday!
