If you caught my devotional last week about the Wright brothers, then you appreciate the title of this week's thoughts a little more.
We'll be enjoying a nice coffee and donut breakfast this week, but let's also keep on track with a short discussion on the effects of sin. We all know the sin of Adam and Eve and later Cain, but have we really considered the effects? The long lasting effects? Not just to those committing the sins ("well it only affects me so I can do what I want"), but to those around them. Review Genesis 3 and 4 remembering what we discussed about God's original intent for man and how verses 14 through 24 in chapter 3 changes this. Pay close attention to their families, loved ones, and even strangers they come in contact with and how it has all changed. Look at Lamech's attitude toward sin (Genesis 4:24). Think about David, Absalom, and all the men and women who suffered and died because of one sin. Sometimes it is a dark and fallen world we live in, and it's easy to just give up hope. This is exactly when it's easy to realize that God gave us both free will to avoid mans sinful nature and a path to salvation through our free will. This is how we know "His grace is sufficient!"
