Globalization

It's a very large speck of dust that we live on. That sentence is oxymoronic and yet it's true. There is a lot going on in our world today. Over the past 10, 20, 50, 100 years these changes have shaped our lives and we hardly give many of them a second thought. We are more connected than we have ever been, and yet sometimes we are farther apart.

This Sunday we have a lot going on. I hope we are all ready for some fellowship, a little work, and a lot of fun as we pack our shoeboxes with the hope that they will spread joy and love to every corner of the globe.

I'd like to continue our recent discussions about Abram, Sarai, Hagar and Ishmael with an open discussion on Islam (as well as other world religions including Christianity). I have learned a great deal while preparing for this study, and while I only have a basic understanding, the one thing I have already seen is that I knew very little (still do) about other beliefs. As in all things, it is our education on the subject, open discussions, and our understanding that are vital to the "truths" (notice the quotes) that we have on any subject.
