"Build a Boat" is a song by Colton Dixon that is one of my favorites. There's a line in it that says, "I will build a boat in the sand where they say it never rains." How powerful! This Sunday's discussions will move us from sin to Noah's Ark.
As you read through the end of Genesis chapters 4 and 5, it's easy to skim right through these genealogies. But there is a pattern between the "sons of God" (Seth's descendants) and "daughters of men" (Cain's descendants). Look at the similarities in the names and the numbers.
Chapters 6 and 7 are possibly the most controversial books in the entire Bible. I will say I have had many questions on this story, and I still do. And that's okay. We won't surprise God with any new questions! There are so many messages in these two chapters, and the key is that this sets the stage for our salvation. What exactly is an ark (and I don't mean a boat full of critters!)?
