Have you ever had one of those veggie/fruit smoothies? I think we should bring a blender to Sunday School and try some different recipes. They're just a jumble of many things all smashed together. I just can't get past the green color though. I think it's usually from spinach or kale.
My week has been like that, so I guess my thoughts are also. I lost a good friend this week, not much older than I am. No issues that I knew of, no tragic accident, it was just his time. We sat together just last week and talked about the same things we always did, life, work, kids, grandkids, retirement.
I met other people this week. Some new acquaintances. Some I haven't seen in a while. I realized a few things (that we all know).
Life is so short.
We're all so unique.
We all have a way we can help one another.
Fear, anger, uncertainty are always there.
So is love. 1 Cor 13:13.
This week I'd like to go back to to a story we had not too long ago but see it from another angle. Ex CH 18. Let's see what Jethro sees and ask the question "what is a mentor". I think we start it wrong many times. I think sometimes we need to slow down (can you believe I am saying that)! I think sometimes just a cup of coffee and a chat are a good idea. That's why I love our Sunday School meetings.
I also found a new song I really like, and a new artist (thanks Jude!!). Brandon Lake. Google his song "Praise you anywhere". Then listen to a few of his others.
Sometimes you’ve gotta
dance through the darkness
Sing through the fire
Praise when it don’t make sense
Sometimes you’ve gotta
stare down the giant
Worship from the lion’s den
See you tomorrow!
