A transformation. A change. A coming home. Uncertainty. Fear. Then settling back home. Maybe some calm will come now after all these years traveling.
Last week we watched Jacob transition into Israel. And now the journey is back home to face and angry brother that likely will want revenge. Our pasts are often not what we thought they would be when we started our life. Many times, our present isn't smooth either. We even look to the future with uncertainty. Will the storms ever cease? When will respite come?
We see a lot of turmoil in our world. Just turn on the news. It's everywhere. Listen to the talk around the coffee pot at work. Genesis is also full of turmoil. Full of "why's". Full of "how can that be". I thought God's chosen would always make good decisions? This week chapters 33-35 show us this isn't the case. I think maybe it's God's way of reminding us that we need his presence. Not just occasionally, but every step. Every turn. Every chapter.
As I studied this, a footnote to one of the verses gave me one of those goose bump moments. It's similar to Brother Terry's "dew and rain" last Sunday. Spoiler alert ... you gotta come tomorrow to find out ..... qesitah
Se ya then !!
