We just had a really good rain. Since last night it looks like almost an inch. And more to come. One of those days that feels lazy, like there is nothing to accomplish. There are times in life like that too, when you just feel stuck.
As the Israelites fell away from God, I wonder if they felt this way. When Samson became the new judge, did they see hope? He was literally call by God before his birth. What would it be like to know that God is always on your side? Always fighting your battles? I wonder if Samson fully grasped this? I wonder if we do ....
Last week, we got a pretty good introduction. This week let's see what happens to Samson along the way. Keep an eye our for the phrase "and the spirit of the Lord", it pops up at the oddest times. And those vows (Nazarite rules), there were just a handful. Yet everything Samson did seems to violate one of them. Wait are we still talking about Samson or us?
No subliminal text messages today ... I'm not expecting cake or goodies to show up tomorrow. Especially not that one that Rhonda made a while back ..... Or those sweets Sharon brings .... ok, nobody think about goodies now. Stop it .....
