Seeds

I'm looking out the window as I write this. I'm pondering the last week. It's been a very eventful week! Today is a very windy day. Leaves are falling, dust is whirling around. Little white fluffy things are floating on the breeze. I wonder if any of these are seeds?

Have you ever thought about a seed? They're really pretty amazing. All different shapes and sizes. A peach or a plum has one large seed. A walnut is almost a single large seed itself. A tomato has several. Where do they get seedless watermelons anyway? Do bananas have seeds? An ear of corn is all seeds! I looked up the anatomy of a seed, apparently, beans are popular seeds as every search result I found was a dissected bean seed. Inside the seed there is this little leaflike part called the plumule. It's basically "the new plant waiting to sprout". How cool is that?

I looked up the first mention of seeds in the bible, I thought it would be somewhere in Genesis. I was right! Only 11 verses into the Bible and we have seeds. Jesus taught on the sower and the seed. The same parable is in three books, Matthew 13 is one of them. But I wanted to use the verse in Galatians 6:7 as our starting point this week and let's see what our spiritual "seeds" are.

Everyone who reads this post bring a seed to Sunday School and let's see how many different types we randomly get.
