The ties that bind

Got any crazy in your family? I know you just smiled. They say every family has some, so if you're thinking "not any in my family," then maybe it's you!

In this week's study, we begin to see "the family" taking shape. This is the story of Israel. The 12 tribes. The sons of Jacob. That's the guy we met last week who did a little slight of hand to get the blessing.

I have heard and read these stories for many many years, and I'm sure you have too, but it's amazing how even now while preparing for our weekly sessions all the symbolism just ties things together in a way that gives that ah-ha moment.

On this cold day, let's read Genesis 27:41 through 30:24. Grab a warm cup of coffee and see where God leads you. I like the dream of Jacob in Chapter 28, the vow and the stone, the well in Chapter 29, the trickery, and of course all the struggles between Jacob and all his wives! But all this lays the foundation for the 12 tribes, the roles of each, the nation of Israel, the priesthood, the 12 disciples, and Christ the New High Priest (which tribe was he from?). This is going to be so interesting!

See you tomorrow.
